The rule of hands to face was changed in the last few years Mut 23 coins. In the trenches, you would often be allowed to punch defenders inside the helmet (more similar to the facemask) provided you took off your hand from the face as soon as contact had been made. If you kept your hand in the helmet or facemask for more than one tick, it would be a penalty. In addition, if the impact of the blow to the helmet quickly snapped back the attacker's head, it was a foul.
In 2015 to say that "any contact with the helmet is a foul," it was flagged 5 to 7 times a game in the preseason during the trenches. Most of the time, it was along the offensive line.
I recall receiving a phone message from my brother following their first preseason game , when numerous flags were raised against him for the rule and the player was snarled. He was playing with a defense that was smaller and when he goes to hit his chest, the hands rise naturally up , and he makes a brief contact with the helmets of the players. The incident was never previously reported and now it was. We were both concerned that it could fundamentally alter the offensive line's play.
When the regular season started, the calls disappeared. I'm fairly certain Mitch was not cited for one of them during the entire season. They weren't always executed as stated in the rulebook , and accidental contact with the helmet was not considered an offense. A blow directly at the helmet would be legal and playing in the trenches wasn't required changed fundamentally.
That's a long winded way of saying that I'm not sure that the Madden NFL 23 persists to loosely enforce this new helmet rule during the season. If they do make a mistake calling it from time to when, yes, they'll, but this rule shouldn't change the fundamentals of the game , if enforced with care buy madden nfl 23 coins.
