Russell Westbrook's return to home with his team the Los Angeles Lakers did not exactly as planned. In 2K22 he was overall 86 but gradually slowed down following an uncharacteristic performance throughout the season. The current league MVP is the third-highest player for the team and MT 2K23 the place his final score was 2K22. There's no doubt that he's the same player he was in 2016. However, it's fairly unfair to lower him from 78 to the 78 mark within a single season. His shot-IQ is 25 which is tied for the most low score in the game although it's not really surprising.
If you want to compare, players who have been rated as 78 overall are Patrick Beverley, Westbrook's new teammate, Cole Anthony, Jakob Poeltl and rookies Paolo Banchero and Jabari Smith Jr. Perhaps Westbrook should have started his career between 80 and 83? This isn't unkind, but it is more of it's a "How does he keep getting high ratings?"
Type of snub for other players. Porzi? The numbers are solid, however, when you watch him, you can see that he's not the same of the man he was before the ACL tear. That's why Porzi?s numbers are solid, but the Dallas Mavericks moved on from his. After posting impressive numbers (22.1 scores, 8.8 Rebounds, 2.9 assists in a shooting 48-37-87 splitting) across 17 of his games with the Washington Wizards, Porzi? has now jumped to 85 overall mark in 2K23 following having started 2K22 as 84 overall.
Westbrook was hit hard for one season that was subpar, however Porzi? ?is in good form after just one 17-game streak. As mentioned, Siakam fell despite achieving things that were more solid. Porzi? is also rated higher than Klay Thompson Draymond Green Fred VanVleet and 2K23 MT De'Aaron Fox just to name the names of a few players. It will be interesting to see how this rating affects the rest of the season However, plenty of stars have been omitted from a better rating.
