Burns Road Food Street

Burns road is a street in the heart of an old neighborhood of Karachi, after the partition, people from

different cities in India migrated and settled in Karachi, at burns road they started opening restaurants

during1950’s and it has since been go-to place for food lovers, the food street is famous for its

traditional sub-continent mouthwatering food items such as Nihari, Haleem, Biryani, Kababs, fried fish

and desserts such as rabri and Gulab Jamun,some of the famous restaurants at burns road are

Waheed Kabab House: Established 1951

Specialty: Fry Kabab in butter, Dhaga (thread) Kabab, Nihari

Migrated from Delhi, this is the third generation running the restaurant, serving mouthwatering kababs

Café Lazeez: -Established 1970

Specialty: Katakut also serve karahi, charga(deep-fried chicken & Sajji Chicken or lamb slow cooked in

fire

Katkat dish originated from Karachi, made from edible offal of goat ( mixture of various meat organs)

including Liver,Kidneys,testicles,brain,heart,lungs and lamb chops cooked in butter with green

chillies,tomatoes ,ginger, garlic and lots of spices.

Rabri is a sweet, condensed milk dish originating from Sub continent, made by boiling milk on low heat

then adding nuts and served chilled
