Once you have obtained a yoga certification, you have the option to register yourself as a yoga teacher and become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). This provides certain benefits, including an internationally-recognized credential that demonstrates your compliance with Yoga Alliance’s minimum standards of yoga practice and training. Additionally, you gain access to marketing opportunities through their RYS directory, free online workshops, advocacy alerts, community events, and discounts on various products and services. However, it’s important to remember that being an RYT is not the sole factor determining your employability as a yoga teacher. While Yoga Alliance registration can assist with insurance coverage, travel, and work visas, and offer networking opportunities, what truly matters is your passion for teaching, your dedication to continued learning, and the actual hours you have put into teaching and refining your craft.
