A guardrail beam, also known as a guardrail or a traffic barrier, is a safety barrier commonly used on highways and roads to prevent vehicles from colliding with hazardous obstacles or leaving the roadway. The guardrail system typically consists of a series of metal posts, called "posts," spaced at regular intervals, and a series of horizontal steel beams, called "rails," that connect the posts. When a vehicle collides with the guardrail, the rails and posts absorb the impact and redirect the vehicle back onto the roadway, reducing the likelihood of severe injuries or fatalities.
