An International Driving Permit (IDP) is a document that translates your government-issued driver's license into multiple languages, making it easier for foreign authorities to understand. It is recognized in over 150 countries as a valid form of identification and proof of your ability to drive. IDPs can be obtained from AAA in the United States and the CAA in Canada. IDPs can be obtained online or in person and are valid for one year from the date of issue.
