Directed prosecution is a smart approach adopted by companies to build a comprehensive and less vulnerable IP portfolio.

In layman language, directed prosecution is a process of identifying key elements not added in the claims of the patent in prosecution which would be of importance for infringement purposes and filing a continuation application within the three months of receiving NOA resulting in a strong IP portfolio.

Further, for each NOA application, Ingenious identifies key elements or embodiments missing in the claims from the patent specification and search for any competitor’s product or technology around the same.
