Before we get to the subject of one-phase immediate loading dental implant-based oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia, let's say a few words about the implants themselves. Two families of implants are known in Hungary: traditional two-phase and immediate loading one-phase. They got their name based on their most characteristic feature. So, the two-phase implant is implantable in two separate phases, while the one-phase implant insertion takes a single stage. In addition, there are many differences between them, about which you can find articles in our ARTICLES section.
The article on tooth replacement with an immediately loadable implant describes a unique method of tooth replacement, the same course of immediate loading dental implant-based oral rehabilitation treatment. Oral rehabilitation is necessary when no single tooth is suitable for dental care in the oral cavity. Restoration is possible on the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. That probably happens similarly at other dental offices, but the following protocol describes precisely how it happens in our institute.
Oral rehabilitation tooth replacement occurs in two parts, on two different occasions. The first happens the implantation and the making of the long-term temporary denture(s). The immediate loading dental implant-based oral rehabilitation is more expensive and time-consuming. The second time will take place approximately six months later. That is when we remove the long-term temporary denture(s), thoroughly examine the condition of the implants, and make permanent porcelain denture(s).
One-phase immediate loading dental implant placement
The treatment begins with a free, personal consultation with the implantologist performing the implant placement. The personal consultation is free with us, but it is the patient's responsibility to attend it! That is an excellent opportunity for the patient to get to know the implantologist and ask questions. The consultation is also suitable for developing trust and sympathy between the patient and the doctor.
The making of CT and panoramic X-rays. That is an essential part of immediate loading dental implant-based oral rehabilitation. One of the critical conditions for successful implant placement is that the implantologist is aware of the condition of the patient's teeth and jawbone. For this, we must use both imaging systems because while X-Ray creates a two-dimensional image, CT creates a three-dimensional one. The latter shows not only the quantity of the bone but also its quality in 3D.
