Another important change being implemented in the game is that Blizzard is reducing the damaging values of the WoTLK Gold enemy. "Our main goal with this change is to limit the amount of duration required the creature to die from becoming excessively short, while also increasing the damage they do is not necessary for the purpose," Blizzard said. "Instead, this made you feel that they were getting more dangerous. This was not our goal."
Blizzard continued to state that some of these changes were already available in World of Warcraft through the 7.2 Public Test Realm patch, and even date back to January. The developer did not tells players about the change immediately as the studio wanted "raw, honest and real feedback."
"When that feedback never came we assumed it was a normal change--i.e. people who didn't notice it weren't concerned about it, while those who did notice it considered it to be fine," Blizzard said. "Clearly that was a false assumption, and we should have drawn attention to it later in the PTR cycle in order to be aware of the issues prior to when Patch 7.2 went live."
World of Warcraft lost 800.000 players during the period April-June Publisher Activision Blizzard announced today as part of its latest earnings report. As of June 30. World of Warcraft had 6.8 million players, which was down from 7.6 million players at March 31.
