The most memorable event of February was, of course, Elden Ring. The game is regarded as one of top FromSoftware games ever, the RPG game soared to the top of the charts, requiring players from across the globe to restore the titular item. In addition to Elden Ring, Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG brought ARPG/MMO hybrid Lost Ark to the West after a hugely successful launch in Korea. As server queues grew, and players often lost their will to live but the game has exploded after launch and now features many exciting zones and classes. Dying Light 2 also deserves a quick mention; after all, who doesn't like the thrill of killing zombies?
Finally, Valve changed the landscape of gaming on the go which we explored during our Steam Deck review. Initially, not many people could obtain the device due to reservations and many people placing an order, but it soon became a favorite with boot screen modifications as well as physical accessories and developers racing to make their games to work with the latest system.
It's highly recommended that you check for our Elden Ring review, particularly because it's a PCGamesN Game of the Year 2022. If Soulslikes don't appeal to you There's also the Dying Light 2 review and Lost Ark review for you to explore.
In the wake of Elden Ring came Final Fantasy Origin: Stranger in Paradise The game was not able to match FromSoftware's success. However, Elden Ring shot to the top of Steam's charts as well as, uh, porn. While Hogwarts Legacy's Quidditch feature (of the absence of it) became the talk of the town.
Rainbow Six Siege also returned with Operation Demon Veil, which added a stunning array of Asian-inspired clothing, as well as new Operator and masked defender, Azami - one of the most impactful characters added to the meta after Year 2's Mira. Overall, March was a little less tense than February (not the least bit hard) but April sure exceeded expectations.
