Science Day, also known as National Science Day in India, is celebrated every year on 28th February to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by the Indian physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, commonly known as C. V. Raman. The day is observed to promote scientific temper and encourage scientific innovations and research in the country.
