The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India. It was founded in 2008 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and is considered one of the most popular and lucrative cricket leagues in the world. The IPL is played every year between March and May and features eight teams representing different cities in India.
